Podcast Update and Season Openers

Well, hockey season is here and we’re ready to go! Unfortunately the Wild lost to the Predators in the season opener but hey, it’s a long season and it’s only the first game of the season so, hang in there and have faith. LOL

The Gophers season opens up against Mount Royal on Sunday (Oct 6th 2019) so, we’re excited to see how the men’s hockey team starts out and UMD starts out against U of Alberta in an exhibition game on Saturday (Oct 5th, 2019. And then St Cloud State will have their way with U of Alberta on Sunday (Oct 6th, 2019) and then Mankato will take a crack at Mount Royal on Saturday Oct 5th, 2019.

As for youth hockey, visit the Hockey Hub for updates via the appropriate district . For me (JR) District 9 is where I’ll be keeping an eye on the Faribault and Owatonna areas. For Andy, District 8 is where all the action is at and where he’ll be focusing his attention on. What section are YOU gonna be supporting? Leave your comment below in the comment section.

As for High School Hockey, the season kicks off with Anoka going up against Rogers at 7p at the Rogers Ice Arena. There are a ton of games so, check out the HUB for all the matches, dates and times for your local team.

First Blog Post

Welcome back to the Penalty Box Blog. I wanted to jump up here real quick to provide you with an update on the status of the website, YouTube Channel and the Podcast.

Because of real-life goings on, we have not yet begun to record podcasts. I have finished converting my man-cave into a home studio complete with a green-room, podcast station and YouTube set. However, because of health related issues and work reasons, I simply haven’t had the time to get together with Andy to finish mapping out the video podcast and start recording.

The [NHL] season starts on Thursday (Sept 3, 2019) with the Wild taking on the Nashville Predators. The collegiate level starts on the weekend of October 6th (U of M vs Mount Royal) and youth hockey and high school hockey kicks off around Nov 21st so we still have plenty of time to get our shit together and, begin recording podcasts.

Just remember, we’re NO professionals so, getting of shit together and actually recording these things will probably be sub-par in quality but hey, you gotta start somewhere right? So anyway, expect to see something posted / uploaded by Friday the 11th of September, 2019.
